After the Lions’ disappointing 3-0 defeat to Solihull Moors on Saturday, Wayne Brooksby and Jameel Ible have targeted a return to winning ways as soon as possible.
Steve Kittrick’s side travel to Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday and Brooksby is keen to prove there is a lot more to Guiseley than what was seen on Saturday.
“It was very disappointing (on Saturday) as a performance for myself and for the team as we were second to everything, we were really poor all round,” the young winger told Tom Feaheny.
“I didn’t get on the ball enough, I didn’t run at the defenders and I didn’t create any chances. I had no shots, and obviously I wasn’t able to score.
“I think we had a bad day at the office but hopefully on Tuesday we will turn up.”
Man-of-the-match Jameel Ible echoed his team-mate’s thoughts, saying he can’t wait for Tuesday’s trip to The Northolme.
“The team are much better than Saturday and we just can’t wait for Tuesday now to put it right,” he said.
Ible made his full Guiseley debut on Saturday and, while he was happy to be back in action, the former York City defender was frustrated after losing the opening game of the season.
“We were sloppy, second to balls and just weren’t our usual selves.
“The lads are all just looking forward to Tuesday night and putting it right.”
Away travel for the trip to Gainsborough Trinity is still available with the Supporters’ Club
