Guiseley Vixens are through to the next round of the West Riding County Cup after a solid two-nil away win at Harrogate Town Ladies
A goal in each half from Nikki Berko was enough to secure passage to the Quarter-Finals.
The Vixens had to end the match with nine players after Lauren Griffiths received her marching orders from the referee and Emily Scott was forced off through injury after already making all three substitutions.
Guiseley started strong, keeping most of the possession and creating a few chances within the opening half-hour while keeping Harrogate’s chances to a minimum.
Just over half an hour in, Ebony Nije ran through the defence, as if the ball was stuck to her feet and crossed it to Emily Scott who chested down to Nikki Berko for a tidy finish into the bottom left corner.
The Vixens began brightly after the break, when Berko finished well after some good build up play down the left which doubled the Vixens lead two minutes into the second half.
With twenty minutes to go, Lauren Griffiths was shown red after a heated exchange with the referee, leaving Guiseley with ten.
The Vixens suffered another setback as Scott was forced to leave the field due to injury. Having made three substitutions, they were forced to finish the game with nine players on the field.
Despite the player deficit, Guiseley managed the game well and held on to their lead, seeing them through to the Quarter finals of the County Cup.
