Guiseley Vixens suffer another defeat on the road, losing 3-1 to West Bromwich Albion.
A penalty from Nikki Berko wasn’t enough to inspire the Vixens to go ahead in the hard battled game.
Leanne Mitchell’s brace and another from Harriet James were enough to wrap up all three points for Albion.
Despite a positive first half, Guiseley were unable to convert any of their chances with Chantelle O’Hara, Nikki Berko, Fiona Worts and Danica Roberts all going close but goalkeeper Vanessa Kinnerley kept them at bay.
West Brom went into halftime the happier of the two sides after Mitchell capitalised on a goalkeeper error and finished well to send the home side one-nil up.
Just after ten minutes into the second-half, Guiseley were awarded a penalty after Jennifer Kikomeko blocked a shot with her hands. Berko stepped up and sent Kinnerley the wrong way to even up proceedings.
Albion levelled things up soon after when a freekick was awarded for an apparent handball. The ball was curled into a dangerous area in the box, between the Guiseley backline and ‘keeper, where James got a touch to put the home side back ahead.
Despite the Vixens best efforts, they were unable to equalise and in stoppage time, West Brom managed to tuck away a third and final goal.
Mitchell got on the end of a tidy through ball down the left side putting her through one-on-one with Seasman, with Mitchell coming out on top and slotting it in to seal the victory for the home side.
The Vixens will now look forward to facing Blackburn Rovers at home, next weekend.
