After finally playing their first league game of 2017 last week, the Vixens are looking to continue their winning run, travelling to Mossley Hill this Sunday.
Mossley come into the game having won only once at home in the league this season, a 5-2 win over Tranmere Rovers.
Last time out at Nethermoor, Mossley battled hard going in to the break 2-1 up. A better second-half from the Vixens saw Sarah Danby bag two goals for Guiseley to emerge eventual 3-2 winners. She returns to the squad after missing last week’s trip to Morecambe.
Manager Kyle O’Reilly (@KJaOReilly) said: “We’re always confident going into games as we believe in our process and trust all the players wholeheartedly. Form doesn’t mean much, for us it’s just another game. We prepare as normal and look to get the job done in the 90 minutes, if the last outing against them is anything to go by then it won’t be plain sailing.
“We don’t take any game for granted. Three points are three points regardless of who they come from and we need a lot more points on the board if we’re to achieve our objective of promotion.”
“Last week’s win reassured all of us that we can keep the momentum going despite the break but more importantly it had shown us that we have to apply ourselves correctly throughout all phases of the game all the time. Last week we started terribly slowly and found ourselves two down so we don’t want to be in that scenario too often!
“It’s good to be back, everybody was growing frustrated with the lack of games but thankfully we got the job done on Sunday and hopefully it will continue. We are only half way through the season while a lot of other teams have played four or five more games, so fixtures will come thick and fast from now until May.
“Promotion is the aim and we’ve put ourselves in a great place and we’ve added a good level of depth to the squad, so it’s a case of rolling our sleeves up and bracing ourselves for a big push.”
Captain Alarna Fuller (@Alarna10) said: “We’re going into the game off of a good win. The new players have got a game under their belts with us and it’s great that we’ve got the likes of Scotty (Emily Scott) back into the swing of it but that being said Mossley have already provided us a tough game which we won 3-2.
“We’re hoping for the same outcome as last time which is the three points.”
