After yet another postponed game last week Guiseley Vixens are back at Nethermoor this Sunday as they welcome Blackpool Wren Rovers.
The visitors come into the game having lost four out of their last five games and are yet to win away from home this season.
They do, however, have the league’s top scorer in Nikki Berko, who has 15 goals in 13 games.
Last Time Out
The Vixens are yet to play to play Blackpool as the scheduled game earlier in the season was postponed.
Manager’s Thoughts
Glen Preston said: “We don’t know a lot about them. I’ve only managed against Blackpool once last year in the cup, when I was still at Huddersfield, and despite beating them 11-1 on the day it was a good game and they have some really good players and have good people at the club.
“It also looks as though they’ve kicked on this year. They will be a very tough opponent for us, there’s no doubt about that and we, as always, will need to be at our best.”
Captain’s Thoughts
Alarna Fuller said: “We’re going into the game off a good win two weeks ago. The new players have got a game under their belts with us and it’s great we’ve got the likes of Scotty (Emily Scott) back into the swing of it.
“That been said, we know what Blackpool are capable of and that they have the highest scoring player in the league and can be a real threat so we will need to have our wits about us.
“We know about their away record but football changes fast and everybody is up for the game when they come to us because we’re currently the ones to beat and people want to take the points off of us.”
The game will kick-off this Sunday at 2 pm at Nethermoor Park and entry is £3, £1 Concessions and free to Guiseley season ticket holders. Get live updates by following @GuiseleyVixens on Twitter.
