Third-placed Chorley come to Nethermoor Park this Sunday as Guiseley Vixens looks to go back to the top of the FA Women’s Premier League Division One.
Chorley come into the game without a win in their last five games, losing four of those. The Vixens are back playing regular football after many breaks over the past few months and will want to make their return to Nethermoor a special one.
Last time out, Guiseley came out 4-1 winners at Chorley with Sarah Danby, Chantelle O’Hara and Lizzie White getting the goals that day.
Manager’s Thoughts from Kyle O’Reilly
“It will be nice to be back at Nethermoor as the ground is brilliant and the pitch suits what we’re about. As always form is irrelevant at this level, team’s inconsistencies usually come from players being unavailable through work and holidays.
“That being said, we are preparing for a full strength Chorley side as they are the team that has sat at the summit for the last couple of months. If we win then we go top, so the motivation is there for everyone.
“It was 4-1 last time but that day it was 1-1 at half-time and we rallied late to score three more. While we had the lion’s share of possession it wasn’t plain sailing but if we stick to our process then as always I back us.
“We’ve improved vastly and it’s not anything specific in training really, it’s just the natural evolution of the squad.”
“In pre-season we threw a lot of information at the girls so while we were dominant, there were holes in performances. As we’ve played more games together the information imposed on players becomes less frequent and players are now growing into their own roles and putting their own personality on their positions. It’s natural if you allow freedom.”
The game will kick-off this Sunday at 2 pm at Nethermoor Park and entry is £3, £1 Concessions and free to Guiseley season ticket holders. Get live updates by following @GuiseleyVixens on Twitter.
