On Sunday Guiseley Vixens were beaten 2-0 by local rivals Bradford City in the Womens County Cup.
Bradford play in a higher league than Guiseley but whilst the result was not surprising Guiseley will be disappointed that they were not able to achieve a cup upset.
On a very sticky pitch which made good passing football almost impossible for both teams, Bradford controlled the game without really creating clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities but managed to take a 2-0 halftime lead with goals from an opportunist strike and a headed goal from a corner.
In the 2nd half defences were again on top and this, allied to the playing surface, meant that neither team really looked like scoring with the result that Bradford progressed to the next round leaving Guiseley to focus on the league season and FA Womens Cup.
Team: D Maslin, L Hunt, K Zserdicky (S Legge), K Welham, S Hobson (L Whitton), E Maguire, J Whitford-Stark (M Walsh), A Beresford, L Stringer, B Kendell, T Rich. Unused substitutes N Bates, B Smith
