Guiseley Vixens are pleased to announce the new Development structure throughout the club.
Luke Shale has been appointed as head coach, with Kamran Hussain joining existing staff member Jordan Hartley to form a 3-man coaching setup.
The development structure will be overseen by the newly-defined role of ‘Technical Director of Youth Development’ which will be held by Ash Thompson, alongside his role of First Team Assistant Manager.
Luke joins the club with a First Class Degree in Sport Coaching and Development. Previous roles include coaching in America and Switzerland, and he currently works for Leeds United Foundation, as a community coach and is head coach of Leeds United RTC U10s.
“I’m delighted to be joining Guiseley, it’s the perfect step up for me personally as a young coach, it’s going to be a great challenge and I can’t wait to get started! I’m very much looking forward to working with the other top coaches and been a part of this great setup.”
Kamran joins the club with a wide range of experience, previously working in Canada as an academy coach, before working with the Huddersfield Town Foundation and Bradford City Girls. He is currently coaching at Man City in the Community and is a mentee coach with Man City RTC.
Upon joining, Kam said: “I am excited for the opportunity to coach at Guiseley this season. I followed Glen and the team closely last season and was impressed with the coaching staff and players.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Development Project. There is a lot of talent in the young players here, so my goal is to help a group of players to push on and make a handful of appearances in the first team by the end of the season.”
On the announcement of the new structure, Ash Thompson said “I am pleased to have Luke and Kam on board. Alongside Jordan, I believe we have got 3 fantastic coaches with great pedigree to help our youngsters. The structure we now have in place will give us a strong support network for our talented young players and give them all the tools to progress towards first team level.”
The development team will kick off their season a week on Sunday, away to a newly-reformed Fylde Ladies Development. Their home games will be played at Fleet Lane.
