Trinity visit Nethermoor on Saturday

Two of the Skrill North’s most in-form sides meet at Nethermoor on Saturday as the Lions host Gainsborough Trinity.

After a disappointing start to the season, Steve Housham’s side are unbeaten in five league games and have climbed to 14th in the table, eight points behind Guiseley.

The Lions will be confident going into the fixture, however, after extending their unbeaten record in all competitions to 15 with a 3-2 victory at Harrogate Town on Boxing Day.

Mark Bower’s men have won six of their last seven meetings with the Northolme outfit,  their last victory coming in August thanks to goals from Gavin Rothery and Wayne Brooksby.

It will be the second game in three days for Guiseley, but Gainsborough saw their home fixture with North Ferriby United abandoned following floodlight failure. On the busy festive period, Bower explained: “It is hard, yes.

“Basically (physiotherapist) Martin (Stringfellow) is going to have to have his phone on constantly for the next 48 hours just with updates.

“But, we’ve got a good group in the dressing room and they know what it takes to get them ready for games so the boys will do what they need to do to make sure they’re in the best possible shape for Saturday.

“Hopefully everyone will be available with the exception of Danny Hall, so we’ll just patch ourselves up and go again and look to carry the run on.”

Saturday’s match sponsors are ViaMaster

Childreach International will be holding a half-time collection at the game. You can find out details of the work they do on their website.
