Guiseley AFC Ladies would like to welcome their new management team of John Shirt and Julie Grundy to the club. Both John and Julie led Rothwell Ladies unbeaten last season and since the club folded recently, our ladies team are teaming up with their squad of players to take the league by storm this coming season.
John has long-term plans for the club, and with Julie Grundy along side him who is a UEFA B coach and heavily involved in womens football development, the future is looking bright for all involved.
Pre season has been interrupted with the departure of Manager Liam Kelly and his assistant Scott Evans, so the two squads need to gel quickly and hit the ground running in this weekends friendly away at Doncaster Belles. They are playing the North East Regional side, not the Super League giants. That may be too much too soon.
The ladies play their first league game at Peterlee Town on Sunday 1st September, but they will return to Nethermoor for their game against Castleford White rose on Sunday 8th September at 2pm.
