Six-a-Side Tournament Info

Guiseley AFC Community Foundation & Guiseley Lions
Annual Six-a-Side Football Tournament

The annual Six a Side Football Tournament will take place on Sunday 21st July in conjunction with Guiseley Lions and their partner charity Wesley’s Wish which aims to support a fantastic local cause and help Wesley, a Guiseley boy in his struggle to live a normal life. Please support this worthy cause either as a spectator or by entering a team.

Refreshments and a licensed bar will be available on what will be a great day for all the family. Further details for teams and an application form are available to download below.

Wes was born at just 31 weeks. He spent almost a month in intensive care then, just as he was getting ready to come home, a routine scan showed that part of his brain had been damaged.  As a result Wes suffers from cerebral palsy. He is a bright, chatty boy, but struggles to sit, crawl or stand. Without a really special effort he’s unlikely to ever be able to walk.  Wesley’s Wish has been set up to raise funds for this special effort. In the USA a pioneering operation – Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) – has already allowed over 2,000 children with Wes’ condition to walk.  We’re hugely optimistic it will give Wes the chance of a normal life.

You can read more about Wesley’s Wish online at www.wesleyswish.org or help out by making a donation, or volunteering.
