Guiseley return to Nethermoor on Saturday when they host play-off rivals Chorley in a clash that could prove crucial in determining the top five.
Chorley sit third in the table – two places above the Lions – and will likely prove a tough proposition for Mark Bower’s men, having won the two contests between the sides this season.
After going on a seven-game unbeaten run the Magpies are without a win in their last two games after taking a point from clashes with leaders Barrow and Gloucester City.
Guiseley are also without a win in their previous two games, drawing 0-0 with Bradford Park Avenue following their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Stalybridge Celtic.
A win on Saturday would put Bower’s side level on points with their Lancashire opponents (having played a game fewer) and Bower said this week: “It’s in our hands.
“We’re a point above Tamworth and have a game in hand. It makes for an interesting last few weeks of the season.
“If we can beat Chorley, Tamworth have a difficult game against Barrow so we could be in there, but if the opposite happens it’s going to be very difficult.”
“We’re at the business end of the season and there’s pressure on all the games.”
Bower also told the Wharfedale Observer this week that Alex Johnson and Danny Ellis could come back into contention for Saturday’s fixture.
