Guiseley Vixens’ Kyle O’Reilly announced today that he is to step down from his post as Co-Manager, right as the club has secured promotion to the FA Women’s Premier League.
“I’ve extremely good relationships with everyone at the club, and that will continue moving forward.”
O’Reilly stated that it has been a very amicable departure and that his absence will allow him time to concentrate on other projects away from the women’s game.
He gave the following statement: “It’s the season end and phase one of the project is complete, I wouldn’t have left a project part way through. I’d committed to getting the club promoted and the club is probably the strongest it’s ever been which that makes the decision easier.
“We have a massive backroom staff that can continue the work and build on the foundations put in place and I’ve no doubts more success is on the horizon. I’ll still be around and about from time to time so it’s not a case of goodbye and not seeing anyone again, I’ve extremely good relationships with everyone at the club, and that will continue moving forward.
“I’m grateful to John for bringing me into the project and letting myself and Glen to push forward with our vision and plans for the club. His ambition matched ours and that’s the biggest reason why this club will move into massive things. I’d like to extend my thanks to all the staff, it’s been tremendously hard work behind the scenes for everyone, a lot of new faces all coming together and driving forward one common goal.
“Considering as a collective everybody’s so young they’ve all been amazing, they’re a great team of coaches, physio’s, media and more but more importantly great people, you need great people working with you.
“Finally a big shout to all the players. Their enthusiasm and willingness to play a style of football that was alien to a lot, there was a bad mood around the camp when we took over and that could have affected the early progress but they’ve been a professional bunch from dev’s through to firsts and they’ve been a pleasure to work alongside.”
The club would like to extend our gratitude and offer a big thank to Kyle for all his efforts over the last twelve months, we are sad to see Kyle leave, he will always be welcome back and we wish him well in his new endeavors.
