Barrow visit Nethermoor on Tuesday night as the Lions look to start another positive run following North Ferriby’s win on Saturday.
The long unbeaten stretch in LS20 was ended when two second half goals from the Villagers saw the match end in defeat.
However Adam Lockwood’s men have been in good form before then including a win at second placed Dagenham and Redbridge just over a week ago.
Barrow exited the FA Trophy on Saturday with a 5-1 defeat at Tranmere, before that the Bluebirds have picked up good wins in the league this year.
Paul Cox’s men have struggled against sides down near the bottom of the league with defeats to Southport, York City and a 0-0 draw at home to Torquay United in 2017.
Lockwood was left frustrated after Saturday’s defeat “It’s disappointing to come up short against somebody around you in the table.”
“Ultimately we came below our standards, there were some good performances and fair play to North Ferriby, they came and gave us a great game.”
“In the changing room they all know our standards haven’t been reached, they have been in the last 20-25 games and we’ve been absolutely outstanding.”
Adam feels the quick turnaround could be beneficial for his squad “It is a good thing that we’ve got another game on Tuesday to show what we are about.”
“There were chances there to win the game for us before they equalised.”
“We have to make sure between now and the end of the season we don’t do it again and we don’t put ourselves in that situation.”
The Lions have enjoyed good results over Tuesday’s visitors at Nethermoor in recent years “Every game is a tough test, Barrow on a Tuesday night is definitely a tough test.”
“We’ll be preparing the best we can, as we always do, I’ll be disappointed if the standards drop below where they are.”
“We just need to make sure we get back to it as soon as possible and hopefully that is Tuesday night” said manager Adam Lockwood.
Goalkeeper Jonny Maxted is keen to move on from Saturday’s defeat “We’ve just go to bounce back on Tuesday and start again with a run and keep doing what we are doing.”
“It’s really disappointing we were 1-0 up and should have seen the game out, the second half wasn’t the best for us after we had a good first half.”
“We look forward to the next game now, we’ve just go to pick up where we left off.”
