Guiseley face Whitby Town at Nethermoor in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy this Saturday.
Town currently lie 17th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, but before losing last Saturday to Hednesford Town they had embarked on a three-match winning run in all competitions.
The last time the teams faced each other, during the 2009-10 season, it was Guiseley who claimed a 3-1 home win thanks to goals from James Cotterill, Adam Muller and Malvin Kamara during their promotion year from the Unibond Premier.
Club Captain Mark Bower said about Saturday’s tie, “It is a big game; we have a good chance to progress against a team from a lower division at home. Last year we played well in the Trophy and were unlucky not to get something at Cambridge United.
“Obviously it does not have the prestige of the FA Cup, but it is important as winning breeds confidence. We have a big squad and everyone is fit, so the Manager might bring some fresh legs in and give people more game time.”
Admission is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £4 for 12-to-16 year-olds, with kick-off at 3 pm.
