Guiseley have announced the signing of versatile winger Nicky Clee and the contract renewal of young forward Luke Porritt as preparations for a second National League campaign step up a gear.
Clee, 32, follows Michael Rankine to Nethermoor from Altrincham where he spent seven successful years and became a fans’ favourite during his time at Moss Lane.
Known to be a skilful winger with an eye for goal, Lions boss Mark Bower said; “Nicky has come to us on an appearance based deal and turned down more security elsewhere for the chance to prove himself with us at National League level.
He’s a very gifted footballer with a great left foot and can play in numerous positions. We’re pleased Nicky has decided to join us and we feel he will be a real asset to the team for the coming season.”
Porritt, who enjoyed a fine pre-season in 2015 before being restricted to a peripheral role due to injuries and spending time on loan at Ossett Albion, has signed a deal for the upcoming season.
Bower remarked; “Luke missed the last 4 months of the season through injury so we’re hopeful he’ll be fit for the start of pre-season and get a consistent run of games under his belt to push for a place in the first team and fulfil his potential.
Luke will be doing extra work with Martin Stringfellow through the summer in preparation for our return to training.”
