Guiseley return to Skrill North action on Saturday against Barrow after almost two weeks without a game.
However, the Lions remain on a high after defeating North Ferriby United 3-2 away from home, thanks to a Gavin Rothery penalty and a double from Wayne Brooksby – a result that lifted Guiseley out of the relegation zone and into 14th place.
The win was Mark Bower’s first in charge of the club and, despite being without a game since their visit to Humberside, he believes his charges are eager and focused ahead of their return to action.
“We would have liked to have played last Saturday but we are now realising what it is like to be knocked out of the FA Cup early,” he told the Wharfedale Observer.
“It would have been good to play after such a good performance at North Ferriby.
“The players are in good shape and keen to get going again.”
Barrow, who were relegated from the Skrill Premier last season, are currently 17th in the table and played Guiseley in the FA Cup last season. The Cumbrian side edged through the replay thanks to a last-minute winner after the initial tie finished 2-2.
Prior to the cup clash, the sides also met in the FA Trophy, with the Lions progressing thanks to a dramatic, action-packed 3-2 win at Holker Street.
Saturday’s match sponsor is Blacks Solicitors.
