Lions looking to source more goals as Worcester come to town

Guiseley face Worcester City at Nethermoor on Saturday with the visitors looking to be the first side to put a blemish on the Lions’ perfect home record.

A strong and battling win at Corby, courtesy of another Gavin Rothery goal, has seen the Lions remain close to the top with Hyde and Stalybridge.

Danny Forrest notches a goal in Guiseley’s last home game against Vauxhall Motors

Worcester have suffered two straight defeats, and come to Guiseley off the back of a 4-1 drubbing at Altrincham and losing 2-0 to Corby in their previous match.

However Carl Heeley’s side are not to be discounted; they earned a 1-0 victory over the Lions in the corresponding fixture last season despite being second best for most of the ninety minutes.

For Steve Kittrick, the momentum is well and truly with his team as he continues to chase down the top two sides in the division, with leaders Hyde involved in a tricky home fixture against fourth-placed Gainsborough Trinity and second-placed Stalybridge facing the long trip to Bishop’s Stortford.

The Lions will be hoping to inflict revenge on Worcester on Saturday, and we encourage everyone to get down to Nethermoor and cheer the team to another home win.
