We are delighted to announce the signing of central midfielder Luke Mariette on loan from Blackpool.
The 20 year-old midfielder has signed a loan deal which will run until the end of the 2023/24 campaign and is eligible to face his former club Macclesfield tomorrow afternoon at Nethermoor.
Mariette was a key player in the heart of Bamber Bridge’s midfield last season making 16 appearances after sealing a loan deal with the Lancashire side for the second half of the campaign.
In that time Luke made 13 starts, including completing the play off final defeat to Warrington Town, before going on to have loan spells with Southport and Macclesfield this season.
Luke has worked his way through Blackpool’s youth setup before signing a professional contract with the Seasiders in the summer of 2021 and went on to make his professional debut as a second half substitute against Peterborough United on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign.
The central midfielder has been included in several first-team matchday squads for the Tangerines, he has also represented Wales at youth-team level and had a loan spell with Curzon Ashton a couple of years ago.
Luke’s home, away and training kits are all available to sponsor.
Meanwhile we can confirm that Courtney Meppen-Walters has signed permanently for Nantwich Town for an undisclosed fee after a succesful loan spell with the Dabbers.
Former Lions boss Paul Phillips moved to sign the former Man City youth defender on loan from Radcliffe last season with Meppen-Walters going on to make 21 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign.
However an injury picked up in pre-season has limited him to just one start and three substitute appearances for the Lions totalling 120 minutes of league football for us this campaign.
We wish Courtney all the very best of luck at Nantwich Town and for his future career.
