Guiseley’s pre-season kicks off tomorrow night at 7.45pm against Bradford City and the Lions have been hard at work in training.
Training on Thursday began with a series of long runs before the lads got down to playing some games and gelling with the new recruits before finishing off with some sprints.

Following training new recruit Alex Davidson spoke to the media team about pre-season.
“Pre-season has been tough, really tough. That’s how you want it though, we need to be on our toes when the season starts.”
He also spoke of the competition he’ll face upfront with a number of striker vying to start.
“There’s a few strikers yes and from what I’ve seen I’m going to have tough competition but that’s how it should be. It keeps you on your toes and there’s no complacency that way. I’ve set myself a target of one in two and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Fellow new recruit Michael Burns spoke of the reasons he joined the club.
“I got a phone call from the gaffer and was asked to come down. I met with him and liked everything he said about the club wanting to challenge for automatic promotion. I also know Gavin Rothery from Carlisle and he spoke to him. He said there’s a good bunch of lads and we play really nice football.”
He also told us of what he expects for the season ahead, his first full season in the Blue Square Bet North
“I’ve been at this level briefly, on loan with Stafford Rangers. I know that some teams want to play football and some want to go long. I also know we’re in for a long, tough season but hopeafully a successful one.”
