Lions Add Cadman To Squad

We are delighted to announce the dual registration signing of James Cadman ahead of tonight’s trip to South Shields.

We will have an addition to our squad for the trip to South Shields tonight for the latest Pitching In Premier League game, writes Rachel O’Connor.

Central midfielder James Cadman, 26, joins on a dual registration with Scarborough Athletic and is well-known to manager Danny Ellis, having played alongside him at Harrogate Town.

Cadman, born in Rotherham, went through the Academy system at his home town club joining them at the age of six. He went through every age group at Rotherham before signing as an apprentice at 16. He achieved his dream of playing for the first team before being released.

He then joined Stalybridge Celtic before signing for Harrogate Town.

Cadman signed for Scarborough Athletic for the 2016-17 season, their last in exile in Bridlington, and has spent five years with The Seadogs.

He became an important part of their squad, playing in a number of positions, but lost his place as they started their run towards winning promotion to the National League North.

He found it difficult to regain his place, even more so after he got married following the first game of the new season and missed games whilst on honeymoon.

Philosophical about his position Cadman said: “To be fair they are doing well so I cannot complain. I missed games due to my wedding but I wouldn’t change that, it was worth it.

“I just want to come and play at a good club who want to be challenging for promotion, get some games in and get some consistency in my play.

“It is a while since I have looked forward to playing as after I lost my place I never knew if I would be in the side or not. I am looking forward to pulling on a Guiseley shirt. I know a couple of the lads, Jameel Ible and Luke Dean, from playing with them before and I cannot wait to get playing.”

James’ home, away and training kits are all available to sponsor.
