Guiseley Vixens are pleased to announce the signing of the versatile Josie Hewson from Brighouse Town.
Her previous clubs include the North Yorkshire Girls Centre of Excellence (now the York City Regional Talent Club), York City Ladies where she played for five years before moving to Brighouse Town last year.
Past achievements include representing the North Yorkshire Girls Centre of excellence in 2010 to promote women’s football in South Africa prior to the World Cup and also winning the county cup with York City Ladies on a number of occasions.
Hewson said: “I’m looking forward to the rest of the season with such an enthusiastic and supportive club. I’m excited to play with some talented players and learn from the enthusiastic coaches; developing me further as a player in all aspects of the game.”
Manager Kyle O’Reilly said: “Josie’s a great signing who brings a lot of quality to the group, she gives us a lot of options and allows us to play with different ideas.
“She comes with a great education behind her, having played at the North Yorkshire Centre of excellence, and I’ve no doubts she’ll be a very productive player for us! it’s important we’ve strengthened the squad and club as a whole over the festive period.
“We have a tough couple of months ahead of us now as we look to close in on promotion and compete in the cup. A lot of credit needs to go to everyone who’s helped bring in the new additions, been out scouting and working hard behind the scenes. Fingers crossed we continue as we have been and we’re able to get the job done come May.”
The club as a whole would like to welcome Josie to the club and we wish her all the best for her time here.
