We are delighted to announce the signing of Ethen Vaughan after a trial spell with the club.
Looking to push on with his career with the re-vitalised Guiseley AFC is Welsh U-19 international Ethen Vaughan, writes Rachel O’Connor.
The 20 year-old right back made a good impression as a trialist in the win over York City and was keen to put pen to paper on a contract with The Lions.
Halifax-born Vaughan started his football career as a youngster at Huddersfield Town. He then joined Norwich City and played for their Under-18s and 23s. He left The Canaries to join Burnley in January 2022 and then had a short spell on loan at Farsley at the back end of last season.
His brother Rohan is a scholar at Burnley. Vaughan qualified to play for Wales U-19s through his grandfather.
The young right back said that as soon as he played for Guiseley v York he knew it was the place he wanted to be.
“I had trials at Buxton, Halifax, Dunfermline and Altrincham before I trialled at Guiseley this pre-season but I enjoyed it at Guiseley. The players and staff really made me feel welcome,” said Vaughan.
He added: “This is a great opportunity that has been given to me and I can see that there is a future for the club and that they are ready to bounce back to National League North. I want to be a part of that.
“Personally I am looking to get as many minutes as possible and to try and make my name in football. The York game was a good challenge for everyone and I thought that as a squad we performed well. I am looking forward to the Darlington game now, that will be another good challenge for us,” said Vaughan.
Ethen’s home, away and training kits are all available to sponsor.
