The only low point of Guiseley’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Stalybridge Celtic was an injury to defender Danny Ellis.
Danny was taken taken to hospital after the match and appeared to be in a great deal of discomfort. It has been confirmed that he has popped his acromioclavicular joint, or AC joint, which is essentially a dislocation. The injury is expected to heal naturally, although Danny will be visiting a specialist this morning to see what can be done to speed his recovery. The positive news is that nothing is broken.
Danny told club secretary Adie Towers this morning that he felt groggy and that the current prediction is that he will miss 3-4 weeks. Everyone at the club will want to wish Danny all the best in his recovery and we hope to see him back in the Lions’ line up as quickly as possible.
