Local pub The Station, in Guiseley, is collecting old and unused football boots which are to be donated to charity.
‘Project fair play’ intends to offer football boots to disadvantaged children so that they can get involved in the game. The project is run by the Youth Sport Trust who aim to inspire and engage young people in sporting activities.
The Station has done charity work before, including the collection of hundreds of football shirts around the time of the 2010 World Cup. Guiseley AFC is looking to contribute to the cause with any spare boots found at the ground and would encourage fans and players to do the same with any they may have.
The campaign runs until June 30th and boots can be dropped off at The Station, 70 Otley Road, Guiseley, LS20 8BH. For further information call the Station on 01943872061 or visit www.youthsporttrust.org.
