Cotterill leaves, Fitzgerald loan extended

James CotterillDefender James Cotterill is leaving Nethermoor to pursue his options of playing regular first team football and Jez Fitzgerald’s loan spell at Evo-Stick promotion chasing Chorley has been extended until 09 April 2011.

Manager Steve Kittrick paid tribute to the former club captain and thanked him for his contribution to the club over the last few seasons. “He always gave 100% and played a major part in our gaining promotion last season” said Kittrick.  “He will always be welcome at Nethermoor and we hope to se him around the place should he have tim to be here”

Jez FitzgeraldCotterill’s former defensive partner, the versatile Jez Fitzgerald, has put in some impressive performances since he first went on loan just over a month ago and with the Magpies pursuing promotion Manager Gary Flitcroft – the ex-Blackburn Rovers midfielder – was keen to retain the experienced defenders services.
