Guiseley AFC Community Foundation’s Food Bank Collection is in its ninth successive year and the charity are looking for your support to help people in Aireborough at Christmas during these particularly challenging times.
The cost of living crisis has had an impact on everyone but particularly the most vulnerable in the local community, the Community Foundation are as keen as ever to support them with a collection.
You can drop off your donations at Nethermoor between 10am and 12:30pm on Saturday 3rd December in the clubhouse car park, it is the day Morpeth Town come to LS20 in a game which kicks off at 12:30pm.
The collection is once again for Otley Food Bank and Aireborough Children’s Centre, over the past eight years Guiseley AFC’s players, staff, volunteers, supporters and the wider Aireborough Community have been extremely generous.
Otley Food Bank (part of Churches Together) provide support for people in crisis, not only in Otley but across the Aireborough District, Aireborough Children’s Centre have identified families in need of support.
Items needed this year include breakfast cereals, tinned meat/fish and pies, jars of meat/fish paste, tinned vegetables, instant mash, tinned potatoes, stuffing mixes, gravy granules, tinned/packet/cup a soup, pasta, rice, tinned/dried beans/pulses, pasta/cooking sauces, flour, bread mixes, dumpling/Yorkshire pudding batter mixes, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, UHT milk, long life fruit juice/cordial, jam, marmalade, honey, peanut butter and chocolate spread and any other food items.
Toiletries required include toilet rolls, cleaning products and feminine hygiene products
Cat and dog food is also required to support vulnerable families.
Festive items that are require to help with the creation of Christmas Hampers include Christmas pudding, tinned sponge puddings/long life cakes, custard, rice pudding, jelly, instant whip, brandy sauce, evaporated milk, tinned fruit, savoury/sweet biscuits, dried fruit/nuts, crisps/other savoury snacks, chocolate, sweets and selection boxes.
The football club has, in the past, received donations of several hundred pounds worth of food, toiletries, pet food and Christmas related treats, exceeding expectations each year and we would like to thank you for your continued support of Guiseley Community Foundation’s Foodbank Collection.
