Just for fun, and to test the creativity of our Facebook readers and Twitter followers, we ran a little caption competition on Sunday. The photos were quick snaps made during the first half of our game at Halifax. As you’d expect, the standard of entries was variable but there were some gems. Here are our picks … the winners are in bold:
1. Zack, Sean and Jake
James Hill – The ascent of man, Guiseley style.
Tom Dickson Jr – “This is the bus stop, right?”
Gill Chapman – “I hate to tell you this mate but you’ve lost your shadow.”
@whoputthebootin – “When Kitty said we had a job for us to do, we didn’t realise he meant as stewards in the away end.”
2. Steven Drench in ‘action’ during the first half
Jamie Grand – Steven Drench: “They said 3pm kick-off… right?”
@AlexChaffer – Halifax serve 1-match behind closed doors match penalty
@whoputthebootin – Steven Drench: “Resting players for the play-offs is OK by me but this is ridiculous!”
Steve Lunn – “Excuse me mate, I’m looking for the bin”
The photo at the top of this page, by the way, is one we didn’t use. If you have a great caption for it, Tweet it to us @guiseleyafc with the hashtag #lionscaption and we might add it to this article.
