We are delighted to announce that Andy Kellett has signed a new contract with the club for the 2022/23 season.
Midfielder Andy Kellett has signed a new contract with Guiseley AFC after appearing as a trialist in their pre-season games, writes Rachel O’Connor.
The 28 year-old struggled with injuries last season and has now proved his fitness to the new management team of Danny Ellis and Danny Forrest.
Born and raised in Bolton, where he still lives, Kellett started his football career with home-town club Bolton Wanderers.
Whilst at Bolton he had a loan spell at Manchester United, to specifically help out their Under-21 side.
This he did by helping them to win the Under-21 Premier League title. There was a stark contrast between his loan to the Old Trafford club, with its luxurious facilities, and his previous loan to Plymouth, where the players trained on a park pitch.
On leaving Bolton Kellett had a season at Chesterfield and two seasons at League Two Notts County.
Popular with the Guiseley fans Kellett will be looking to establish himself in the Guiseley side as they step out to play in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.
Thank you to Alan Thomson who has sponsored Andy’s home kit for next season.
Andy’s away and training kits are both available to sponsor.
