As we look back on what has been a challenging season on the pitch, the Board of Directors wants to place on record our sincere thanks to you—our supporters—for your unwavering backing. Non-league football relies entirely on the loyalty of its fanbase, and the Nethermoor faithful never fail to step up.
Behind the scenes, work never stops. We are fully committed to moving this club forward, and we want to share an update regarding our stadium infrastructure, finances, and footballing plans as we build for the campaign ahead.
1. The 4G Pitch Project Update
We know how eagerly anticipated the installation of the new 4G pitch is. We want to reassure supporters that we have full planning permission secured and, crucially, the necessary funds are safely in place and ring-fenced.
However, due to concerns around supplies and pricing due to the ongoing conflict in the middle east, and challenges securing final permits from Leeds City Council required for us to break ground, we have simply run out of time to guarantee completion before the season kicks off. Whilst strict contingency ground-share agreements were in place to protect the club and in line with league and FA regulations, we are not prepared to take such a risk of starting the campaign away from Nethermoor due to factors completely out of our control.
As a result, the project has been deferred to the 2027 close season. The money is secure and the intent is unchanged. Whilst we are disappointed to defer for a further year, a strong budget has been provided to our groundstaff and volunteers to ensure that the grass surface is as good as possible for the upcoming season.
2. Stadium Infrastructure & Upgrades
While the pitch is deferred, significant investment into Nethermoor is pressing ahead this summer, building on the ground improvements we have introduced recently.
- The Fan Zone & Matchday Experience: Following the fantastic response to the new catering outlet we introduced last season—which has been a huge hit for adding more variety to matchdays—we are excited to keep pushing ground improvements forward. Our highly anticipated new fan zone is very much still in the pipeline, and we want to extend a massive thank you to the Supporters’ Club and wider supporter base for their incredible, ongoing fundraising efforts to help make this space a reality.
- New Digital Scoreboard: A brand-new scoreboard is due to be ordered imminently with a 8-10 week delivery timescale. Fabrication work is required on-site, and we are aiming for a September/October installation. Unfortunately after extensive checks it was determined that due to water ingress and weather damage over the years, as well as parts now being obsolete, it was not viable to repair and reinstall the old scoreboard
- Essential Upkeep: Funding is also being directed into vital behind-the-scenes infrastructure, including, but not limited to, new changing room showers, replacing old doors and finalising the perimeter fencing upgrade to improve the grounds security. While these aren’t always highly visible to spectators, they are crucial for player welfare and maintaining the fabric of our home.
3. 2026/27 Season Tickets and Admission
Our season ticket prices have been frozen for the last two years, meaning this year’s adjustment may feel like a larger jump than usual. However, we have worked hard to ensure we still offer exceptional value for money.
Even with the adjustment, our early bird Adult season tickets remain the fifth lowest-priced season tickets in our league at the time of release—with only four clubs offering a lower rate, and others commanding as high as £270. Ticket prices at all categories are lower than the average across the league.
Our standard full price will be £250, but we are pleased to offer the Early Bird price of £200 of which 99% of season ticket holders usually take advantage of. We hope you will take advantage of this offer and continue to be our twelfth man on the terraces. Full details on how to purchase can be found here.
4. Football Operations: Building the Squad Early
Preparation for the new campaign is already well underway, and we are determined to give the management team the best possible tools to succeed.
As has already been announced, we are delighted that the nucleus of the current squad has already put pen to paper for the upcoming season. Our retained list in full is due to be announced next week. Furthermore, several exciting new signings have already committed for next season, with official announcements scheduled throughout June once contracts can be lodged with and accepted by the FA.
Alongside conducting our business early, the management team have been meticulously planning out a rigorous pre-season schedule. Our pre-season fixtures have started to be announced and the further details will be released as and when agreed with opposition clubs.
Together as One
We are entering this close season with financial stability, a clear squad strategy, and tangible stadium upgrades underway. We are learning the lessons of the past year and laying down the foundations to ensure Guiseley AFC is competing exactly where it should be.
Thank you for your patience, your passion, and your continued support.
Chris, Gary, Stuart, Mark, Pete & James.
