Academy Recruiting Full Time Tutor/Coach

Guiseley Academy are looking to recruit a full time Tutor/Coach for their sports study programmes which lead to a BTEC Sports qualification.

In the role you will be delivering the BTEC Level 3 course at the newly built classroom at Unit One Health and Fitness Club in Guiseley. This is the start of an exciting period for the youth setup at Nethermoor with planning permission given for a new 3G playing surface which is expected to be put in place before the 2024/25 season.

The Young Lions compete in the National League U19 Youth Alliance North division and an important part of their time with the club is studying away from the field to earn qualifications.

The coaching role will involve working with our pool of talented Academy players. UEFA B licence is desirable but experience in football also taken into consideration.

About the Role

To support the course team; to plan and organise routine team operations and to ensure the efficient implementation of policies and procedures in order to deliver the highest possible quality curriculum to students. Work with our talented pool of academy players both on and off the field.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teaching to contracted hours of 900 per annum, less any agreed remission for specific responsibilities or cohort numbers.
  • Staff Coordination – creating a positive climate and set high expectations for the course team in relation to standards of student achievement and the quality of teaching.
  • Course Management – ensure the development and maintenance of a course structure and schemes of work within the context of the organisation’s guidelines and policy.
  • Coaching – Plan and follow a clear and transparent Football curriculum which meets the needs of the players at the centre
  • Quality Assurance
  • Learner Management
  • Resources – use accommodation and resources to create an effective and stimulating environment for learning and teaching.

Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • Course leader – Level 3 Sport Coaching and Development
  • Coach – minimum UEFA B level (preferred)
  • A formal teaching qualification at Level 4 or above
  • Experience of working in FE.
  • Experience of the post-16 age group.
