Will joined the club on 30th May 2024 from Bradford (Park Avenue) where he had played for the previous two seasons.

Leeds-born Longbottom started his career at Doncaster Rovers, joining them as an 11 year-old and remaining there for ten years. He signed a professional contract with the club and made around a dozen first team appearances.

Whilst at Rovers the forward had loan spells at Kidderminster Harriers and Gainsborough Trinity. After leaving Donny Longbottom moved to Ireland to play for Waterford for six months.

Longbottom returned to England and had a handful of games for Avenue before joining Farsley Celtic for the 2021-22 campaign. Then in 2022-23 he returned to Avenue and played 42 games scoring 11 goals.

Away from football Longbottom enjoys going to the gym and he and his partner Emily run an online coaching business.

On 31st May 2025 Will signed a new contract with the club after making 43 appearances and scoring 26 goals, finishing the season as the league’s fifth highest scorer and Sponsors’ Player of the Season Award.

A year later the forward signed another new contract with the Lions at the end of an injury disrupted season but Longbottom still hit seven goals in 22 games.
