Nicky joined the club on 23rd September 2022 and made his debut a day later at Hyde.

The winger signed for an undisclosed fee from Whitby Town having had a productive spell at Liversedge during the 2021/22 campaign.

A talented wide-man with non-league pedigree, he played a key role in Sedge’s title-winning 2021/22 campaign, netting 24 goals across all competitions. This earned him a place in the NPL Division One East team of the season.

Walker began his career with home-town club Rotherham United, working his way through the Academy before becoming a scholar and then signing a two year pro deal.

He made his first team debut in a League Two game in November 2013 while still a youth player. He had loan spells with Wycombe Wanderers and Grimsby Town before being released by The Millers.

Walker then played for Boston United, Bradford Park Avenue, Buxton, Shaw Lane, Gainsborough Trinity and Alfreton Town. His time at Liversedge was his most prolific as far as goalscoring is concerned.

The wide man could have found himself in a Guiseley shirt earlier in the season but for a bit of bad timing. He explained: “Danny Ellis was interested in me in pre-season but when he rang me on the day he returned from holiday I had signed for Whitby that morning.

“So I started the season at Whitby and things didn’t turn out as well as I expected. Although I played in all but one game we kept playing different formations, chopping and changing all the time and the results showed it. I went there with high hopes but things did not turn out as I had hoped but they are a good club.”

“I pride myself on being able to deliver a cross and I look forward to being able to work with the likes of Jake Cassidy and Mo Qasim, getting the ball to their feet. The manager likes to play a front three and I think that is one of my strengths playing 4-3-3.

“I will be hoping to get wide and move the ball forward quickly. I had a really good season at Liversedge and I want to kick on now with Guiseley. I am really excited about this move, I feel it is the right move for me. I am here now and that is what matters.”

On 24th December 2022 it was confirmed that Nicky Walker had left the club to join Liversedge for an undisclosed fee. Nicky made 13 appearances and scored one goal.
