A Look At Bury AFC
The side managed by Andy Welsh will begin the season at a new level following their promotion last time out.
They will join the North West Counties Premier Division, a league packed full of familiar opposition to The Lions including Burscough, Barnoldswick Town, Kendal Town and Vauxhall Motors.
Welsh will have to do it all without former Lion Tom Greaves who has signed for Thackley to be closer to home and take on a coaching position with the club.
A Look At The Lions
The Lions have had a busy summer with a host of new signings and the appointment of a new management team in Danny Ellis and Danny Forrest.
Ellis will also continue to be registered as a player taking it to 10 new additions since the end of the 2021/22 season.
The two Dannys will also be looking at a number of trialists across the friendlies with Adam Haw, Lewis Hey, John Johnston, Ethan Cartwright and Shaun Tuton all returning to pull on a white and blue shirt.
The visit of Bury gives homes fans the chance to potentially see new signings Kyle Trenerry, George Smith, Lewis Gardner, Jorge Sikora, Luke Dean and Nat Crofts for the first time. Not forgetting Jameel Ible, Spencer Harris and Jake Cassidy who are all in their second spells with the club.
A new season also brings with it a new kit and The Lions will be sporting their fresh white and royal blue home kit for the first time on Saturday.
In Summary
Well, finally we are here, the first game of the new era. A chance to see the new kit, and maybe purchase one from the Club Shop. A chance to watch the signed players and trialists have a run out against a well-supported Bury AFC team.
