Young Lions Return To Nethermoor With Farsley Clash

Guiseley Academy will face a tough task on Wednesday when they try to get back to winning ways with a game against second placed Farsley Celtic, writes Rachel O’Connor.

The clash at Nethermoor Park (1pm) comes after a depleted Young Lions side fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Solihull Moors last Wednesday.

The injury hit Guiseley squad travelled to the Midlands without any substitutes and battled hard against the side that now stands in third place in the National League Academy North table.

Chester hold top spot with 36 points from 19 games with Farsley second with 35 points from 18 games.

Moors are third with 34 points from 17 games but fifth placed Blyth Spartans are not out of the title race yet. If they win their games in hand they could grab top spot.

Guiseley remain in seventh place with 22 points from 18 games.

For the game at Solihull they had to make a further three changes from the side that drew 1-1 with York City. Coming into the side were Ronnie Skelton, Emre Can and Zack Richards.

It was midfielder Marley Spence, who has had an impressive season, who netted Guiseley’s goal, his third of the season.
