We can confirm Will Thornton’s loan at Gainsborough Trinity has been extended until the end of the season.

Thornton has spent the majority of the campaign at Trinity after recovering from a broken jaw sustained in pre-season, he made the temporary move in November.

He will now finish the season at Northolme with The Lions continuing to hold a 24 hour recall notice should it be required.

The academy graduate won the Gainsborough Trinity Player of the Month award in December and has played an important part in their rise away from relegation danger.
