West Riding FA Statement On County Cup

The West Riding FA have announced that there will be no West Riding County Cup during the 2020/21 season.

In a statement published on their website West Riding County FA said:

“The West Riding FA Cups Competitions Committee and Membership Regulations Committee have approved the following;

1. The West Riding FA shall not operate any County Cup Competitions for the forthcoming season (2020-21)

2. The West Riding FA shall not sanction any Ad-Hoc Competitions for the forthcoming season (2020-21)

West Riding FA are mindful of the added logistical requirements imposed by the FA and government as a result of Covid-19 on league competition providers and the uncertainties that lie in the months ahead with respect to management of the virus in society and within sport specifically.

West Riding FA recognise the difficulties leagues will no doubt experience over the coming months and hope that the decision to postpone delivery of County Cup Competitions and Ad-Hoc Competitions will help in alleviating unnecessary pressure on leagues during these uncertain and challenging times.

West Riding FA will continue to work with leagues to effectively the ‘manage the return to football’.”
