Vixens Welcome Wolves to Fleet Lane

Guiseley Vixens face Wolves Women this Sunday at their temporary home of Fleet Lane.

It is a crucial game for the Vixens who currently sit in eleventh place, just the one point above bottom of the table, Wolves and this will be the third game in a week for the two sides.

Assistant Manager, Ashley Thompson gave his thoughts on the game.

First of all, how big of a game is this for you?

“Yeah, It’s a massive game for us against another promoted side in Wolves. We have improved a lot since week one but don’t have the points we deserve.

“We were unlucky not to get more out of the games against Fylde and Stoke. On top of that, we created enough to take something away from Middlesbrough on Wednesday. This game is a great chance for us to get our first win on the board and something to build on as we move forward.”

What’s the mood in the camp like going into the fixture, and how have you prepared for the amount of games in such a short amount of time?

“With two tough games leading up to this game, it’s something we’re aware of and have been planning for. A number of players didn’t travel with us on Wednesday, so we’re hoping they’ll add energy and impetus.

“With the use of GPS, Zohaib has been monitoring the player loading to ensure we’re in as good a shape as possible going into this Sunday.”

The game will take place at Fleet Lane, Woodlesford with a 2:30PM kick-off. Follow along on Twitter for match updates.
