Guiseley Vixens look to secure their place in the FA Cup first round proper as Nettleham Ladies FC visit Nethermoor Park for the fourth qualifying round this Sunday.
Joint manager Glen Preston had his thoughts on the upcoming fixture:
“We have done as much homework on Nettleham as we can and it’s for certain that this is a team not to be taken lightly. They may play in the division below but their record over the last couple of years is exceptional and they probably should have been promoted to the same division as us, having finished runners up three years running.”
“Their form this season is exceptional having beaten all the top sides in recent weeks and they look as though they are one of the main title challenges again, so we have to be on guard for this game.”
There is good news squad wise as Hannah Hale will be back in the line up this weekend as well as Dani Valente and Ellen Gardiner who are in contention to be included in the team. Lauren Griffiths is away, and Katie Welham, Keegan Lambert and Emily Scott are still out injured.
“We will of course go into this game as big favourites but this cup competition produces shock results every year and we will have to ensure we are 100% focused.”
“We have strong ambitions for this competition and would love to emulate teams like West Brom who did amazing last year making it to the later stages and getting to play Man City. Two years prior I remember Coventry City doing something similar and meeting Notts County and this would be something we would love …not to mention that it would be nice to help the clubs finances in the process.”
He rounded up saying, “Overall I feel confident going into this game because as we are in great form but we have want it one hundred percent as nothing less will do.”
Kick-off is 2pm at Nethermoor Park and entry is £3, £1 Concessions and free to Guiseley season ticket holders.
