Vanarama launches #WearTheWig campaign

Vanarama launches #WearTheWig campaign to support Non-League Day and Prostate Cancer UK.

Vehicle leasing specialists and National League sponsors Vanarama, together with Prostate Cancer UK are launching #WearTheWig for Non-League Day 2015 on 10th October 2015.

After a successful ‘Thumbs Up For Non-League Day’ campaign in 2014 that saw £7735 raised for the charity, Vanarama are back again to lend their support.

Non-League Day provides a platform for non-league clubs to take advantage of the international break in fixtures and draw in fans from Premier League and Football League clubs that have no fixtures.

Vanarama is supporting Prostate Cancer UK’s pledge campaign with a series of big ticket pledges to raise money and drive attendances on Non-League Day.

#WearTheWig aims to amplify the pledge campaign by challenging football personalities and teams and fans to get involved and #WearTheWig for Prostate Cancer UK.

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “Men United is about men joining together to fight a common opponent – prostate cancer. One man dies every hour from this disease but it’s been proven by taking this issue to football terraces up and down the land that we are starting to make a difference.

“The power of football consistently helps us reach out to men and their friends and families, and we are very grateful for the continued backing from Vanarama as we continue to raise money and awareness throughout the grassroots game in innovative ways. By teaming up with us once more they will play a vital role in saving lives.”

Andy Alderson, Managing Director of Vanarama, said: “We’re delighted to be once again supporting two very worthy causes. As National League sponsors we are proud to play our part in supporting Non-League Day. By partnering with Prostate Cancer UK we hope to raise as much as we can to support what is a vital charity, doing great work.

“We hope fans will have as much fun supporting the campaign as we will.”
