Van-Tastic! There’s Recognition For MANarama Rebrand

Vanarama and their fantastic one-off rebrand to MANarama was last night recognised.

The title sponsors were rewarded for their partnership with Prostate Cancer UK and The National League with the Event or Competition Sponsorship Award at Thursday night’s glitzy Sports Industry Awards.

Their idea captured the country’s imagination as the Vanarama National League suddenly changed its name mid-season – for a very special cause.

The vehicle-leasing company’s bid to raise £150,000 across 43 days for the charity was widely praised.

The September and October name change kicked off a month of action – and one of the stars of the show was there to help the party go with a swing.

Inspirational cancer sufferer Kevin Webber walked seven marathons solo in seven days – and then told us he’s got big plans in store for his next wild walk!

He ended his incredible journey at FC Halifax Town for the live BT Sport game with Chesterfield saying the clubs he visited and people he met made it all worthwhile.

‘Super Kev’ accepted the £150,000 cheque on behalf of the charity and last night he took to social media after being part of the celebrations.

He joined the National League’s CEO Michael Tattersall and many of the Vanarama and Prostate Cancer UK team to toast a wonderful achievement.

Chairman of The National League, Brian Barwick said: “This is great news -a well deserved award. The branding change was both creative and clever, but also impactful.

“We would like to say well done to our Title Sponsors and all their very talented team. It continues to be a partnership of substance and style”.

Andy Alderson, CEO and Founder of Vanarama said: “It’s fantastic news, and very well earned. This couldn’t have happened without all of The National League’s help and support – it was a great team effort so a big thank you and a big congratulations!

“I’d like to thank the clubs personally for their support too.”
