We are delighted to announce that Jordan Thewlis has signed a new contract with the club for the 2025/26 campaign.
Thewlis hit 17 goals in 41 Lions appearances in the 2025/26 season making him the joint fourth highest scorer in the league.
30% of our league goals came from the former Scunthorpe United, Corby Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Harrogate Town, Boston United. Spennymoor Town and Alfreton Town forward.
Across his two spells with the Lions Jordan has made 82 appearances and has found the net 30 times.
Thewlis had a campaign to remember and was crowned the Players’ Player, Manager’s Player and Sponsors’ Player of the Season at the 2025/26 End of Season Dinner earlier this month to bag a hat trick of awards.
The 33 year-old will enter his 16th season as a senior footballer adding experience and nous to the Lions frontline as boss Ian Richards targets a much improved campaign.
Thewlis first joined the Lions in 2021 after his departure from Boston United, he then joined Spennymoor Town for an undisclosed fee in early 2022.
After nine months with the Moors the forward moved to Alfreton Town where he stayed until the end of the 2023/24 campaign. He finished that season as their top scorer as The Reds finished in a play off spot before sealing his return to Nethermoor to work under Mark Bower.
More player retentions ahead of the 2026/27 season will follow in the coming days.
