Three-and-Easy For The Lions As They Kick Off A New Era

The two Dannys kicked off their management careers at Nethermoor with a comfortable 3-1 win over Bury FC who will ply their trade two levels below Guiseley in the NorthWest Counties League Premier Division in the coming season.

All of the goals came in an entertaining first half with Guiseley opening the scoring after just four minutes when Trialist A finished off a sweeping move with a shot from the apex of the six yard box.

The lead was short-lived however, as home keeper Kyle Trenerry could only get a glove on a corner kick and when the ball was played back in Joe Denman was on hand to head home the equaliser.

Both sides played some neat football with the home side looking the more likley to add to their tally which they did just before half-time with a brace from Jake Cassidy.

First he beat the visisting Trialist keper with a low finish just inside the post on 40 minutes and then powered home a towering header from a corner two minutes later.

Wholesale changes by both teams in the second half inevitably disrupted the flow of the game with the visitors coming showing more enterprise without breaching the Lions defence and the score stayed the same – 3-1 to Guiseley.
