We can confirm Will Thornton’s loan at Gainsborough Trinity has been extended for a further month as Aleks Starcenko returns to Nethermoor following the end of his temporary spell at Hyde United.
Thornton first linked up with the Holy Blues in November and has enjoyed regular first team football at Northolme, notching a couple of goals along the way and winning their Player of the Month for December.
The academy graduate will now remain in Lincolnshire for another month with The Lions having the option to recall at 24 hours notice.
Aleks Starcenko has returned to Nethermoor from Hyde United following the end of his loan, the midfielder featured in the academy’s penalty shootout win over Chester on Monday and is now available to Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill for selection.
The midfielder got his first senior goal with The Tigers with this stunning effort on Boxing Day.
