Stones The Hat-Trick Hero

Guiseley Academy, fresh from their FA Youth Cup win over Rochdale, extended their unbeaten run to nine games, all wins, when they hosted Boston United in a league game at Nethermoor on Wednesday.

The man-of-the-moment Josh Stones again took the limelight notching a fine hat-trick to take his goal tally to 16 in eight league and cup games. The other goal was scored by Alex Mather, his first of the season.

In a game in which Guiseley used all five substitutes they finished the game with ten men after Thierry Hendrickson was shown a straight red in the 80th minute.

Stones, who made his first team debut in the league game at Darlington, is certainly carving out a name for himself this season. He has scored two goals in each of the four FA Youth Cup games played so far.

He will now be looking to add to that when the Academy travel to Glanford Park to take on Scunthorpe United in the Second Round Proper. This tie is yet to be arranged but has to be played by November 20th.
