Our unbeaten run against Stockport County came to an end last season in the Buildbase FA Trophy but the Edgeley Park based side have had a change in management since the fixture. Simon Rusk is the new man in charge who brings with him three former Lions in John Rooney, Ash Palmer and Ben Whitfield.
The Lions got off to a great start in pre-season with ten goals scored and none conceded in the wins over Ilkley Town and Yorkshire Amateur but a defeat to Everton U23’s followed as well as narrow losses to Bradford City, Leeds United, Gainsborough Trinity and FC Halifax Town.
The Hatters have recovered well from their play off semi final defeat to Hartlepool United in June with wins over Ashton United, Brighton & Hove Albion U23’s, Curzon Ashton and Lincoln City with nine goals scored and none conceded.
Match updates and team news will be available on Twitter.
