Spencer Signs New Lions Contract

We are delighted to announce that Jamie Spencer has signed a new contract with the club.

The central midfielder returned to the club in February after a short stint at Pontefract Collieries.

Jamie made 16 appearances, including starting our last league game and two playoff ties, last season after his arrival three months before the end of the campaign.

The tough tackling 27 year-old came through Huddersfield Town’s academy before moving to Bradford (Park Avenue) where he first worked with Lions boss Mark Bower.

Spencer then made the switch to Nethermoor ahead of the 2019/20 campaign and made 23 appearances that season but then joined Spennymoor Town.

After a cut short season in the North East he returned to Nethermoor for the 2021/22 season to work with Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill once again.

Spencer then returned to BPA for the 2022/23 season but was released by them part way through his rehabilitation from an ACL injury.

Once he recovered Spencer signed for Pontefract Collieries and spent three months with them before returning to Nethermoor.

We’d like to thank Pickerings Lifts who have once again sponsored Jamie’s home, away and training kits for the 2025/26 campaign.

More information on further players under contract and our full retained list will be announced in the coming days.
