After impressing in training and the pre-season friendlies youngster Scott Smith has signed a new deal with The Lions and has been named in the first team squad.

A key part of last season’s all conquering Academy side Smith, 19, signed a first team contract last season but was then loaned out for the campaign to Goole Town, where he quickly made his mark.

The winger or right-back from Horsforth joined Guiseley Academy Development Squad Under-16’s after being released by Bradford City.

He has played for the academy for three seasons and helped drive them to the league title and the National League Champion of Champions final last season.
