Ross Daly Adds Experience To Lions Midfield

We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Ross Daly.

New signing Ross Daly comes with a wealth of experience in the Pitching In Northern Premier League, writes Rachel O’Connor.

Midfielder Daly, 33, joins the club from Liversedge and hopes to make his debut in tomorrow’s Isuzu FA Trophy game against Whitby Town, which kicks-off at Nethermoor Park at 3pm.

Bradford lad Daly started his football career with Ventus and represented the Wharfedale FA side in the West Riding County Minor Cup.

He went on to play at senior level with Thackley, where he was managed by Guiseley legend Dave Morgan.

He then moved up a level with Bradford (Park Avenue) before a four year spell with Farsley Celtic.

His travels then took him to Scarborough Athletic before joining Hyde United. A much sought after player more recent moves have taken him to Yorkshire Amateur and Liversedge.

Guiseley’s assistant manager Danny Forrest has long been an admirer of Daly and Daly said: “After a conversation with Danny it was a no brainer to come to Guiseley. It is a well-established club with some great people there and I cannot wait to get going.

“I met Danny Ellis at training on Thursday and I just liked the feel of the whole situation. I know this is a tough league from my experiences in it. I played in it for Avenue and we got promoted to Conference North and I also played at this level with Farsley.”

Of the Pitching In Premier Division Daly said: “I know there are 10 or 11 clubs in this division paying out big money, there are a lot of ex-pros in it. I know Guiseley have a few players very experienced at this level and I just hope to help them get to at least the play-offs.

“I don’t see why we can’t be pushing for that especially with the likes of Nicky Walker and Luke Dean in the squad. I know Nicky and Spencer Harris from playing at Sedge. I am good pals with Luke and I have played a lot of football with him and Spencer in the past.”

Of his ambitions for the current season Daly said: “My ambition is to reach the play-offs. I trained with the lads on Thursday and there are a lot of good players so I don’t see why we can’t be pushing up at the top of the league.”

Ross’ home, away and training kits are all available to sponsor.
