Guiseley were thumped 5-2 by FC United of Manchester at Nethermoor, writes David Bridson.
Jordan Buckley began the rout after just four minutes.
Lebrun Mbeka levelled with a neat header six minutes later.
But Jay Fitzmartin slotted the visitors back in front 27 minutes in.
The same player’s shot was deflected in to extend the lead ten minutes later.
Buckley struck from the edge of the box just moments later.
Jordan Thewlis added doubt with a decent finish on the brink of half-time.
But Adam Le Fondre completed the crushing defeat with eight minutes to spare.
The Lions began brightly but Mbeka headed a third minute corner wide.
But Buckley ensured the visitors struck first with a precise finish via a crisp through ball.
Visiting goalkeeper Daniel Atherton was fortunate to see his sixth minute clearance rebound off the enrushing Joao Silva.
Guiseley’s leveller came via a lovely Harrison Hopper free-kick which Mbeka beautifully flicked home.
Matthew Grivosti fired across goal three minutes later as the promotion chasing visitors went on the offensive.
Hopper blasted a 19th minute free-kick over as Guiseley also attacked.
Fitzmartin weaved past Lions defenders before carving open space to score his first.
The Red Rebels looked threatening every time they went forward.
Ollie Brown made a crucial block to halt Grivosti’s 31st minute counter attack.
Jack Emmett and Jordan Thewlis saw fierce back-to-back strikes cast aside by a resolute FCUM defence five minutes later.
But Fitzmartin’s effort deflected in off a despairing Elliot Owen.
A stunning Buckley finish from the edge of the box added to Lions woes moments later.
Thewlis’ first-half added time strike gave the Lions hope.
Amir Berchil drove Guiseley forward as the second half began but the dynamic winger couldn’t bypass two sturdy visiting defenders.
The hat-trick seeking Buckley headed over in the 50th minute.
Guiseley refused to sit back and took the game to their tough opponents.
Berchil fizzed in a fiery cross in the 54th minute but Guiseley attackers couldn’t capitalise.
Brown’s 65th minute strike was deflected out before the same player headed the resulting corner over.
John Lufudu’s cross following a quick-fire Silva pass was well caught by Atherton a minute later.
Substitute Mo Fadera saw his 73rd minute goalbound effort steered off the line by the determined opposition defence.
Fitzmartin slammed the side-netting from a sizzling 77th minute counter-attack before his shot slid narrowly over via Hopper.
Home ‘keeper Joe Cracknell made a scrambling save to deny Le Fondre moments later.
Grivosti’s cross following his dazzling interception was punched away by Cracknell but Le Fondre laid in wait to head home.
Thewlis hit over in the 88th minute before Fadera’s strike fell wide three minutes later.
Buckley’s curler flew over in the 92nd minute as United sought more.
The heavy defeat sees the Lions drop to 14th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Guiseley’s final league game of the season is at Ashton United on Saturday 18th April with a 3pm kick-off.
After the game Ollie Brown was presented with the 2025/26 Craig Shearstone Guiseley AFC Supporters’ Club Player of the Season award.
